Remember When The Asshat Democrats Threatened The Nuclear Option When They Thought Hillary Clinton Was Going To Win

Republicans Invoke ‘Nuclear Option’ in Gorsuch Nomination; He’ll Need Just 51 Votes Now

Listen, Donald Trump could have nominated the Democrats Lord and Savior, Baracka Hussein Obama to sit on the Supreme Court and the Asshat Democrats would still have filibustered. This move by the Democrats was less about the nominee and everything to do with the man doing the nominating.

I am glad Mitch McConnel and his Senate Republicrats are finally sporting a pair.

Sen. Tom Cotton, (R-Ark.) Reminds Democrats They Promised To Use Nuclear Option If Clinton Won “We didn’t hear much talk about the sacred 60-vote standard back then …”

Senate Democrats were all in favor of changing Senate rules when it suited them, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., reminded lawmakers Tuesday, pointing to the fact that when Democrats thought they would control the Senate this year, they loudly announced plans to use the nuclear option to have their nominee put on the Supreme Court.

“We didn’t hear much talk about the sacred 60-vote standard back then,” Cotton said on the Senate floor. “On the contrary, the Democrats were promising to use the nuclear option again, this time to confirm a Democratic nominee to the Supreme Court.”

Cotton was referencing comments made by former Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., who two weeks before last year’s election boasted that after Hillary Clinton won the election, Democrats would steamroll Republicans to get their way.

“I really do believe that I have set the Senate so when I leave, we’re going to be able to get judges done with a majority,” Reid said then. “It’s clear to me that if the Republicans try to filibuster another circuit court judge, but especially a Supreme Court justice, I’ve told ’em how and I’ve done it, not just talking about it. I did it in changing the rules of the Senate. It’ll have to be done again.”
